Charity Norman-After The Fall

To be perfectly honest I didn't think this book was going to be something I'd be interested in and only bought it as it was on offer for 99p from the amazon kindle store but I was soon proven wrong it only took a few chapters to get me hooked. I thought I had a good idea on how it was going to end but 90% way through the plot thickened and the secrets are revealed, with such a brilliant twist to a good read!

so here is my insight into The Fall for you bloggers...
Martha and Kit have been married for 8 years after meeting at her mothers funeral, they have 5 year old twin boys, Charlie and Finn (Finn being a big part of the book as he has the fall) Martha also has a teenage daughter Sacha from a one night stand she soon discovers her daughter is trying to find her biological father (which also adds a twist to the ending of the story) ...her husband Kit lost his company and turned to alcohol leaving them with money issues. After a night in the cells Martha bails Kit out but when she gets him home and up the stairs he lasses out and pushes her down the stairs, after the incident they decide it's better for the family to emigrate to New Zealand Sachas world is turned upside down and a few months after the move she turns to drugs after Marth and Kit discover this and intervene she cleans up for a few months but when she relapses Kit loses it and slaps her, are we seeing a pattern here? so when the incident of the fall actually happens the surgeons don't believe he just fell as there is evidence of bruising and old breaks of his bones that hadnt been mended and thats when social service get involved!

The opening chapter gives you an insight into the initial fall but after that you're back in the past being let into their life on the run up to the fall. Im usually not a fan of books that flash back to the past then forward I'm easily confused! but Charity Norman has done it just right and pulled it off, it's an easy read to keep up with.

"I think about the truth. I really do. I look at it from every angle, I see police and a courtroom and a prison cell, Finn is a sleepwalker" ...this quote sets the alarm bells off and in the back of my mind I instantly jump to the conclusion Martha is the one who pushed Finn but as I read on I shift the blame to Kit, however closer to the end there is a new suspect in the line up, but who is it?

An absolutly brilliant book to read and defiantly a must read for you!
